GfK: European Retail in 2017: Central and eastern European nations had the highest per-capita purchasing power increases | KPMG on experiences of Czech consumers - survey

Central and eastern European nations had the highest per-capita purchasing power increases. The population’s confidence in covering more than their basic needs increased as purchasing power increased, GfK analysis European Retail in 2017 report says. 

Sales area increased in Central and Eastern Europe against the backdrop of consumer confidence and mostly above-average retail growth rates. Examples include the Baltic states, Croatia and Poland, where investors and retailers were able to take advantage of these conditions.
