The Kladno-South industrial zone continues to expand. Hanon Systems, a company operating in the automotive sector, has taken over a new 21,000 sqm hall for its use. As part of the project of the Panattoni development company, the reconstruction of the tenant's existing buildings with an area of 16,000 sqm is also being completed.
Hanon Systems Thermal Technology operates a manufacturing plant for the production of cooling systems for the automotive industry in the Kladno-South industrial zone. It has now expanded its production facilities with a new 21,000 sqm hall. Construction began last summer (2023) and was handed over to the tenant in July this year (2024). The existing 16,000 sqm hall is now undergoing the final phase of renovation.
"Panattoni is a pioneer of sustainable construction in the European market. It is able to offer companies comprehensive solutions, including services focused on sustainable development. Already today, sustainability of buildings is one of the key parameters not only for obtaining financing from banking institutions, but also for the tenants themselves. Decarbonizing the supply chain is also one of the key priorities in the automotive sector. Thanks to our expertise and experience in implementing complex projects, including specific cases such as our cooperation with Hanon Systems, we can contribute to the transformation of the entire industrial sector towards a greener future," says Jan Andrejco, Regional Development Director
The new building meets rigorous sustainability requirements and is on track to achieve BREEAM New Construction green certification at the high Excellent rating level. The hall is equipped with heat pumps, a photovoltaic power plant and innovative rainwater management systems, promoting resource conservation. A helicopter was also used to transport the technology to site, reducing the traffic burden of running the building during the exposed period. The project also included the retrofit of existing buildings with an emphasis on energy efficiency and life extension. In particular, a complete refurbishment of the envelope and a total refurbishment of the original office building is underway with an emphasis on energy efficiency and improved working environment for staff. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
The Kladno region is highly valued both in terms of its excellent infrastructure and the quantity and availability of skilled labour. The important D5, D6 and D7 motorways are located nearby, as well as the Václav Havel International Airport. The railway connection between Prague, the airport and Kladno via a modernised line is also a great promise for the future.
