"Digitization is just a basic condition for the fourth industrial revolution...The result will be new business models. This is not abour having revolution without revolutionarists. We have to bring the revolutionarists up. Currently, 90% of education follows old hierarchic patterns. We have to introduce cooperative solutions and interdisciplinary approach into our educational system", says prof. At the conference ARVE — Ambition — Reality — Vision held in September 2015, the Czech Industry and Trade Minister Jan Mládek first introduced the National Initiative Industry 4.0 as the most innovative challenge of a new phase of the industrial revolution, which, as the technological and structural change will hit virtually all fields of human activity. "The basic attributes of the concept of Industry 4.0 includes integration role of the Internet in the communication of machines and products, development of communication, computing, cyber and automation technologies, digitization and a fast internet connection and a number of other steps that will have to be implemented by the Czech manufacturing base to remain competitive...”

According to the Digital Vortex report by Cisco's Global Center for Digital Business Transformation in coopereation with IMD released in June 2015, digital disruption will displace 4 out of 10 companies over the next five years. Media, telecommunications, financial services and retail will face the greatest challenge (in English).

Industry 4.0 comprises Big Data, Internet of Things, Smart Factory and Machine to Machine. The term was used for the first time at the Hannover Fair in 2011 and covered contemporary progressive technologies in industrial production / production automation. Industry 4.0 is based on technologies that have been around here for some time, but these technologies have matured  and offer their full potential.
