Czechia ranked 32nd (down three places year-on-year) in the 2019 edition of the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the World Economic Forum.

The country came in 55th for the category Product market (low scores for Distortive effect of taxes and subsidies on competition, Complexity of tarrifs), 48th for Labor market (Hiring and firing practices, Ease of hiring foreign labour, Internal labour mobility, Labour tax rate), or 42nd for ICT adoption. The report also points to Burden of government regulation and (less competitive) Government long-term vision as well as (less competitive) Attitudes towards entrepreneurial risks.

The country reached high scores for Macroeconomic stability or Infrastructure (Road connectivity, Railroad density, Utility Infrastructure) and gained quite high scores for many research and development sub-categories.

Inspite of the same overall score (71), Czechia slipped down three places, compared with the 2018 index, when the country achieved better or the same ranking in all pillars (as the infographics above show).
