The annual Bloomberg Innovation Index, in its seventh year, analyzes dozens of criteria using seven metrics, including research and development spending, manufacturing capability and concentration of high-tech public companies.

According to the index, Germany (2), Finland (3), Switzerland (4) and Sweden (7), are in the top 10 innovative economies of the world. The USA rank 8th. The Czech Republic ranked 25th, up three places in a year-on-year comparison, ahead of Hungary and Slovakia. Among the EU member states, Czechia ranks 14th.

The country gained the highest scores for Value added (rank 6) and the lowest scores for Concentration of high-tech businesses (rank 47). (Source: vedavyzkum.cz)
