First place in the 2017 Deloitte 50 Technology Fast ranking went to the Czech search engine - Kiwi.com, whose impressive growth rate of 7165% eclipsed 1534% it recorded in 2016 in the Rising Stars category.

'Now the Kiwi.com search engine mediates over 6,500 bookings every day and the company is growing at breakneck speed. In 2017, as confirmed by its position at the top of the Fast 50, Kiwi.com became the fastest growing technology company in Central Europe', the Deloitte report says. 'Plane tickets as a commodity only have two parameters: price and time. However complex our technology is, the end result is that we are always able to find the cheaper or faster connection. Or both', adds Oliver Dlouhý, CEO and Founder of Kiwi.com.

Deeper (winner in the Rising Stars category in 2016) -  a Lithuanian company that designs, develops and produces smart electronic devices for sports and outdoor activities - took second place, with a growth rate of 7048%. 

Third place in the ranking was awarded to the Czech 3D printing company Prusa Research, with its four-year growth rate of 6910%.

This year’s ‘Most Disruptive Innovation’ award winner is Serbia-based heating and ventilation technology business Dadanco Europe company whose aim is to introduce a practical means of slashing energy consumption in urban environments across the world. 

A special distinction goes to Bucharest-based UiPath, the fastest-growing robotic process automation vendor in the world.

“The truly amazing thing is the incredible youth of so many of these businesses,” Ms Zielińska, Deloitte  adds.  “This year, 68 per cent of all companies in the main list are first-time entrants: most were only founded in 2012. No one knows what the future holds, but the impetus is clearly with this dynamic new generation of entrepreneurial businesses, right across Central Europe’s tech sector,” Agnieszka Zielińska, Technology Fast 50 programme leader at Deloitte Central Europe told emerging-europe.com.
