The 2016 edition of the Measuring the Information Society Report by ITU, the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies, features key ICT data and benchmarking tools to measure the information society, including the ICT Development Index (IDI). The IDI 2016 captures the level of ICT developments in 175 economies worldwide and compares progress since the year 2014.
As for the Czech Republic, no change in ranking was recorded between 2015 and 2016 in sub categories Access and Skills (rank 43 and 27, respectively, out of 175 countries assessed). In sub-category Use, the country slipped from 29th to 31st place, as Andorra and Malta showed better performance in 2016, compared with 2015. Nevertheless, the Czech Republic reached higher index value in all sub-categories compared with the previous year. In Europe, the country ranks 21nd.
