AmCham Czech Republic publishes a new report within the Czech Workforce series.
Key findings:
Employment. In all four Moravian regions, Mechanical engineering technicians, Manufacturing supervisors and Lifting truck operators recorded the highest increase in number in the 2011-2016 period.
Employment. In the Moravskoslezský region, the number of Lifting truck operators more than doubled in the 2011-2016 period. The number of Assemblers in the region grew by 48% and Manufacturing managers’ employment rose by 21%.
Employment. In the Olomoucký region, the number of Lifting truck operators increased by 70% in the 2011-2016 period and at the same time, employment of Manufacturing managers dropped by 45%.
Employment. In the Zlínský region, employment of Lifting truck operators grew by 60%, followed by Mechanical engineering technicians (52%) in the 2011-2016 period, while Production clerks‘ employment fell by 40%.
Employment. Employment of Research and development managers in the South Moravian (Jihomoravský) region increased by 20% between 2011 and 2016, but fell by 14.3%.y-o-y in 2016. Manufacturing supervisors, Manufacturing labourers not elsewhere classified and Lifting truck operators recorded y-o-y growth of 19 to 25%.
Employment. The number of Manufacturing managers in the Olomoucký region fell by 14.3% y-o-y in 2016. Lifting truck operators added 23% y-o-y in the Zlínský region and in the Moravskoslezský region, the number of Assemblers increased by 25% y-o-y.
Wages. In the 2011-2016 period, median wages in the Jihomoravský region recorded the highest growth among the regions and occupations covered by this report (where data were available), ranging from 8.4% (Manufacturing supervisors, Lifting truck operators) to 43.7% (Stock clerks), followed by Research and development managers (39%) and Assemblers (34.2%).
Wages. Year-on-year in 2016, median wage of Stock clerks in the Jihomoravský region increased by more than 13%, followed by Assemblers (10.35%). In the Zlínský region, Manufacturing managers‘ median wage added the most (10.2%), followed by Stationary plant and machine operators (10%).
In the 2011-2016 period, employment of Mechanical engineering technicians increased notably in all four Moravian regions covered by this report, mostly in the Jihomoravský region (by 67.6%, accompanied by median wage growth of 25.45%) and Zlínský region (52.4% / 17%). Manufacturing supervisors added 36% in the Zlínský region, while their median wage grew by 17%, followed by the Olomoucký region (30% increase in employment / 15% in median wage).
