HealthCare Institue in cooperation with Ipsos Healthcare published results of Barometer of Czech health care from the point of view of hospital directors 2016. 77 directors-respondents from teaching, regional, city and private hospitals participated in the survey.
67% of directors perceive the risk of decrease in the quality of health care, compared with 45% in 2015. 75% of respondents see the risk of worse accessibility of care, compared with 58% in 2015.
Experts‘ comments on the results reflect the vivid debate over issues in the Czech health care: the lack (or not) of physicians and medical staff and the level of their salaries, the efficiency of the system of health insurance, participation of patients in costs coverage, overuse of the system by patients, medical devices – their number and use, centralization of public procurement, communication with patients and internal communication in hospitals and medical teams, as well as the suggestion to shift towards evidence-based health care policy.
