"The most important trading relationship in the world right now is between the United States and the EU. And you can say, in terms of volume, it is the most important in history. If something goes wrong with that trade relationship, the global economy is not going to be stable. It is not going to be able to grow and, in fact, we are going to have an economic crisis. So, the first thing we need to do is realise that these two partners need to make sure that they remain calm", Weston Stacey, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, says in an interview for investicniweb.cz.
As for TTIP, it is probably not the right time to talk about it. People are not prepared for it. "Pushing it would be politically unwise, but abandoning it would be economically unwise. So at some point, we have to take that issue up again," he says.
"If I could give one piece of advice to Czech exporters, I would say vote for the parties in the election that support the European Union. The Czech Republic is doing much better in a global economy when it is negotiating as a part of the EU", he adds. View full interview (in English with Czech subtitles).
