CTP expands its industrial park in Aš

European-based commercial real estate developer CTP has expanded its Aš industrial park by acquiring building plots and a production facility. At CTPark Aš there are now two fully-leased halls, with a total area of almost 35,000 m2. The completed park will offer clients a further 45,000 m2 of production space.

Negotiations via videoconference – the legal practitioner’s point of view in the Czech Republic

In recent days, we have again reverted to frequent communication (and negotiation) via videoconference. But what are the legal aspects of this way of communicating?

In recent days, face-to-face conversations in meeting rooms have again been replaced by conversations over the phone or – more frequently – in the form of video conferences. It is not uncommon for contracts to be negotiated remotely in this manner. Of course, negotiations via videoconference have their own legal aspects. The following article presents some of them, and suggests rules and best practices.

The highest quality of life in the town of Říčany again. Towns benefit from more jobs and young people moving in

The Central Bohemian town of Říčany has become a place with the highest quality of life in the Czech Republic for the third consecutive year. Holešov in the Zlín Region recorded the most significant improvement compared to last year – it jumped 64 places up to hold the 57th position. These are the conclusions of the third annual Quality of Life Index. It was prepared by Obce v datech (“Municipalities in Data”) with Deloitte as its primary consulting partner.

Two-thirds of drivers have not been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and have plans to buy a new vehicle. Interest in gasoline engines continues to rise

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly influenced new car purchasing plans for only 31% of Czech drivers
  • “Traditional” Czech drivers of cars with internal combustion engines are becoming more loyal to their favourite make of vehicle, preferring to visit multiple dealers of the same make. By contrast, almost half of those interested in alternative drive engines would visit multiple retailers of different makes during the purchasing process
  • When buying a car online, what 63% of respondents would miss most is the opportunity to see the car in person
  • Czech drivers would be willing to provide data for the purposes of determining the amount of insurance based on driving style and for the needs of municipal traffic and parking management
  • 29% of respondents are considering buying an electric car; the make of the car is very important – they see it as an extension of their personality
