The European Commission published the Ex post evaluation of Cohesion Policy programmes 2007-2013 report, focusing on the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF).
The support provided to the Czech Republic under Cohesion policy ERDF & Cohesion Fund amounted to over a third of government capital expenditure (34.3%, 2% of Czech GDP).The country accounted for 8.2% of the total funding from ERDF and CF (Poland accounted for 21% and Spain for 10%, for example).
In the Czech Republic, two Operational Programmes lost over 10% of their funding – the "R&D for innovation" and "Technical assistance" programmes. In some countries such as Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, delays in carrying out projects were found, stemming to a large extent from the lengthy procurement process and the time taken to award contracts, the report says.
