According to EUROSTAT, employment in both euro area and EU 27 decreased by 0.2% in the third quarter of 2012 compared to previous quarter. In the second quarter, the number of persons employed was stable in the euro area and grew slightly by 0.1% in the EU27. Employment decreased in most sectors with the largest falls in construction.
