On 14 June, the Member States of the EU appointed the European Commission on negotiation on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). On 8 July, the first round of talks has started. The aim of the Partnership is to launch jobs and promote economic growth (for further information, click here).
Besides that, an international conference on the Partnership took place in Prague on 15 June. The Conference stated arguments for the Partnership. The main argument is that the Partnership should exert an economic and political leverage against the growing influence of India, China, and Russia. Furthermore, the side-effect of the Partnership consists in further trade liberalization.
