Euro area annual inflation rate was 1.2% and the EU27 annual inflation rate was 1.4% in April 2013, compared to 1.7% and 1.9% (respectively) in March 2013. In April 2012 the inflation rate in the euro area was 2.6% and in the EU27 it was 2.7%.
In April 2013, the lowest annual rates were measured in Greece (-0.6%), Latvia (-0.4%) and Sweden (0.0%). The highest annual inflation rates were recorded in Romania (4.4%), Estonia (3.4%) and the Netherlands (2.8%). Compared with March 2013, annual inflation fell in twenty-four Member States, remained stable in one and rose in one.
