According to a publication of the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) released on 20 March 2015 and data on the CSU website, the number of candidates in the 2013 elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic increased by almost one third compared with the 1996 elections. The voter turnout was 59,48% in 2013, compared with 71,41% in 1996.

There was a 75%-increase in the number of candidates in the 2014 elections to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, compared with the 1998 elections, whereas voter turnout to the second round of the 2014 Senate elections was 16,7%, compared with 20,36% in the 1998 elections.

In the 2014 municipal elections, there were 233 000 candidates registered, an increase by almost one half compared with the 1994 elections. Voter turnout was 44,46% in 2014, compared with 62,26% in 1994.

Voter turnout for the elections to the European Parliament in 2004 and 2014 was 28,32% and 18,2%, respectively.
