For the fourth consecutive year, Czechs have to save the most in Europe to buy an apartment, more than 11 annual salaries
Czechs have to spend 11.4 average annual salaries to purchase their own 70 sqm apartment. Compared to 22 selected European countries, home ownership is the least affordable in the Czech Republic, closely followed by Serbia, where 11.3 local annual salaries are required to buy a new apartment. These are the findings of the latest Deloitte Property Index 2020 study.

Practical experience with applications under COVID – Rent programme
On 26 June 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) launched the COVID – Rent programme. Applications should be accepted until 30 September 2020. Persons carrying out retail or performing services may apply for the compensation of rent for April to June 2020 up to 50%, or 80% where the lessor is a public institution.
