AmCham EU’s reaction to the Article 29 Working Party opinion of the draft EU-US Privacy Shield adequacy decision

The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) welcomes the fact that European Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) have recognised that the new EU-US Privacy Shield represents a major improvement and is a step forward. Based on the information available so far we believe that concerns raised by the Article 29 Working Party should not hold back adoption and can be addressed through further clarifications. Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs 2016: An OECD Scoreboard: Interest rates on new loans for SMEs in Czech Rep rising

The fifth annual edition of the OECD Scoreboard highlights developments in SME financing over the 2012-14 period. On the positive side, it shows that the outstanding stock of SME loans rose in 16 out of 27 countries,including the Czech Republic. New lending in 2014 surpassed 2013 levels in most countries, including the Czech Republic. Interest rates on new loans to SMEs in the country increased in 2014, compared with 2011-2013, the OECD scoreboard shows.

OECD Taxing Wages Report: Czech tax wedge stabilised

Taxes on labour income for the average worker across the OECD remained stable at 35.9% in 2015, ending a series of steady annual increases dating to 2011, according to a new OECD report. The Czech Republic has the 8th highest tax wedge among the 34 OECD member countries in 2015. The country occupied the same position in 2014. The average single worker in the Czech Republic faced a tax wedge of 42.8% in 2015 compared with the OECD average of 35.9%.
