Czech Industrial Property Office: No. of granted patents grows, but Czech applicants could be more active abroad

The Czech Industrial Property Office granted 781 patents in 2016, of which 637, or 82%, to domestic applicants, which is the most in the last two decades. Despite the positive development, Czech applicants are still not active enough abroad, the Czech Industrial Property Office says in its 2016 annual report.

Representatives of Czech firms and institutions embarked on a robotics-focused technology mission to Japan, where they visited science and technology institutions in Tokyo, Tsukuba, Osaka and Nagoya.
