Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index 2016: Fight against corruption in Europe, including Czech Rep, stagnates (updated)

The Czech Republic ranked 47th (score 55) out of 176 countries, compared with 37th place (score 56) in the 2015 CPI ranking. The country reached almost the same scores in 2015 and 2016, but the stagnation means that other countries perform better. Among the EU member states, the country ranks 19th, which is a slight improvement.

Radio Praha: Czech Republic learns anti-corruption lessons over EU funds

One of the fundamental steps to curb the risk of corruption appears to have been taken by Brussels itself, by redrawing the types of programmes for the ongoing funding period so that the role of regional authorities in selecting and supervising projects has all but disappeared. The former regional programmes were frequently a problem in the Czech Republic, Radio Praha writes.
