Workforce report on Manufacturing - National employment and median wage by occupation 2011-2020

In this report, we looked at median wages and employment in the Czech manufacturing sector at the national level, and also in selected regions - Prague, Central Bohemia, South Bohemia, Plzensky and Ustecky region, South Moravian, Olomoucky, Zlinsky and Moravian-Silesian regions.

Core inflation in the Czech Republic decelerates

Year-on-year inflation is kept higher by rising gas station prices and rising tobacco prices due to higher excise duties. Nevertheless, inflation in March ended slightly below expectations and the positive deviation of inflation from the CNB forecast fell to 30 basis points. The central bank will continue to wait with rate hikes. The game-changer should be the vaccination of a significant part of the population.

Where are all those smart cities we were promised?

Tech has long promised to make city living safer, less congested, and more healthy. Now, with the rollout of superfast 5G and the explosion of Internet of Things sensors, those promises are becoming realities for many of our planet's 3.5 billion urban dwellers. Many essential services that once required a trip to city hall can now be done online. Vast networks of sensors help cities measure air and water pollution, reduce energy consumption, and alleviate traffic jams. Smart lighting systems are making streets safer while saving on energy costs. AI-enabled security cameras are helping police catch criminals in the act.
