New compensation schemes for businesses in the Czech Republic

In response to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has conceived two new support programs which seek to prevent any further deterioration of the dire state in which businesses find themselves in the Czech Republic.

Labour Code amendment introduced the concept of job sharing

Combining employment with motherhood and parenthood, as well as the ever-increasing demand of graduates for work-life balance were reflected in the latest amendment to the Labour Code. From this year on, employees can share positions and employers can benefit from government financial support if they create such a shared position.

Czech confidence improved significantly in April

Confidence improved in April amid increased vaccinations, an improving pandemic situation and the prospect of a gradual reopening of the economy. Household confidence is the best since last summer and business confidence reached pre-pandemic levels

AmCham held another Technology Council session, this time moderated by Michel Perret, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, General Manager Europe, and AmCham Board Member, focusing on challenges for supply chains. Lockdowns raised demand for stay-at-home equipment and created future demand.  Among the challenges in 2020 were higher commodities prices, or containers shipping rates spikes.
