IMD: Czech Republic remains most competitive economy amongst transition economies & EU new member countries

IMD evaluated the Czech Republic as the 28th most competitive economy in the world in 2017. That’s a slight decrease (27th to 28th) relative to 2016 results and the country thus did not succeed in extending the previous series of improvements of its relative ranking (2014-2016). Nevertheless, the Czech Republic remained the most competitive economy amongst the transition economies and EU new member countries.

Nanofibres get Best Cooperation of the Year 2017 Award + VIDEOS

The winner of the 2017 Best Cooperation of the Year Award is a project of applied research including the Centre of Materials and Nanotechnologies at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice, and the PARDAM company. The result of the cooperation are unique nanofibres with high humidity sorption capacity that can be used in a number of industrial fields.

Radio Praha: High-speed rail network plan spells enormous investment for Prague

Plans to build a high-speed rail network in the Czech Republic will greatly impact Prague, which will alone require investment of at least CZK 80 billion, iHned.cz reported. Among expected projects are tunnels and an underground extension of the city’s Main Station, Radio Praha writes.
