Czech scientists come up with new poppy genotype

The Czech Republic tops the list of global poppy seed producers and exporters. Recently, Czech scientists came up with a new genotype of poppy (the variety of Onyx). It is GMO-free, can be cultivated faster and has high yield potential.

SPIR: Online advertising in Czech Rep up by 31% y-o-y

Online advertising in the Czech Republic increased by 31% year-on-year, reaching a record-high volume of almost 20bn CZK in 2016, recent survey shows. The estimate for 2017 is an increase by 14% to 22.4bn CZK.

QS Top 10 Student Cities - According to Students: Prague, Brno in the top 10

Between December 2016 and January 2017, more than 18,000 students and graduates rated their cities in eight categories: arts and culture, affordability, nightlife, employment opportunities, diversity, tolerance and inclusion, ease of getting around, and friendliness. Czech cities Prague and Brno made it to the top 10 student cities.

According to the data published by the Prague Convention Bureau, there were 2,528 events held in Prague in 2016, of which 85% took place in hotels, and the rest in other venues, congress centres and at universities.
