Radio Praha: Czech Heritage Jewel wins prestigious European Prize

The restoration of Kuks, one of the most beautiful baroque complexes in the Czech Republic, has won the European Grand Prix for heritage conservation. The prestigious award was presented by the Europa Nostra association in Finland’s Turku last week.The jury praised the interdisciplinary approach of the restoration work, saying it should serve as a strong example for conservation projects across Europe, Radio Praha writes.

IEA: Czech Republic one of countries behind (slight) fall in nuclear production in Europe in 2016

Nuclear production fell 2.4% in Europe in 2016, led by continued German phase-out and decreases in the Czech Republic and France, International Energy Agency (IEA) reports.

Eurostat: Investment to GDP ratio continues to go down in Czech Republic

According to Eurostat, in 2016, the Czech Republic had the second best result in investment volume as percentage of GDP. The country recorded one of the worst results for the 1996-2016 period, though.
