The great European energy transition continued in 2017 and, across the continent as a whole, shows little sign of slowing up in 2018. Ever lower levels of subsidy and guaranteed power prices awarded after fiercely competitive tenders have not deterred developers or financiers, who still see opportunities even in the more mature renewables markets.

NFPK: (Non)obligation to report
The deadline for 2017 corporate financial statements will expire within one month, but almost 90 percent of companies have not yet published any. To date, an astounding 65 percent of businesses have failed to insert their accounting documents in the collection of documents pertaining to 2016. Twenty-five percent of firms, i.e. more than 124,000 business entities, have not met their information duty even once in the past six years. The statistics were provided by the consulting company Bisnode, which has the most extensive Czech database of corporate financial and exchange-of-payments.

Quality of Life Index: Říčany in the Lead, Orlová at the Tail
The Central Bohemian town of Říčany has the highest quality of life, while the Moravian-Silesian town of Orlová has the lowest. These are the conclusions of the Quality of Life Index prepared by Obce v datech (‘Municipalities in Data’) in cooperation with Deloitte as its principal consulting partner. The Index compares publicly available data on health, material conditions and relations within the community in all 206 Czech municipalities with extended powers.
