European Semester Autumn 2017 report: Czech Republic: 2017 is set to mark the beginning of an investment rebound

The Czech economy continues to grow steadily. GDP growth is forecast to be well above potential in 2017 due to buoyant investment and private consumption, but is expected to moderate in 2018 and 2019. 2017 is set to mark the beginning of an investment rebound following the previous year’s slump, the report says. But adds that swift growth risks draining labour market.

CEE region continues to provide opportunity for business despite potential risks, according to report by CMS and Legal Week

Government investigations and regulatory compliance are increasingly concerning issues for businesses operating in the CEE market. This is according to the latest ‘Central & Eastern Europe: Risk & Resilience’ report, published by international law firm CMS and Legal Week, which canvassed the views of more than 40 in-house counsel on the region’s business potential and how to mitigate risks.

New Europe 100 Challengers 2017

The 2017 New Europe 100 is the fourth annual list of central and eastern Europe’s brightest and best citizens who are changing the region’s societies, politics or business environments and displaying fresh approaches to prevailing problems. The individuals from 14 countries were selected by Res Publica, the Warsaw-based journal; Google; the state-supported Visegrad Fund promoting integration within central Europe; and the Financial Times.

AMO V.Dostál, Z.Végh: Trends of Visegrad European Policy - research paper, survey

Vít Dostál and Zsuzsanna Végh published a research paper examining trends of Visegrad European Policy. The authors aim to answer the question whether there is a common view of the Visegrad Group on key EU policies and the future of the Union.
