J.Harvey on cybersecurity: In 2020, there will be more spent on detection vs. the current trend of prevention - interview
Justin Harvey, Chief Security Officer, Fidelis Cybersecurity Inc., USA spoke at the "True Stories from the Dark Side of the Net" roundtable organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. In the interview below, he addresses current trends and issues in cybersecurity.
AmCham EU’s position on the Commission Anti-Tax Avoidance Package
AmCham EU welcomes attempts to ensure that adoption of the OECD’s recommendations is consistent across the EU and with international trading partners where they are required in order to address identified issues by the OECD such as cross border hybridity, excessive interest deductibility and abusive transactions. Consistency is vital to minimise the negative impact on cross border trade and investment and to avoiding potential double taxation. However, we are concerned that the proposed measures are not appropriately drawn to tackle the identified issues without negative impact on the single market.
AmCham EU position to improve quality and coherence of EU online contract law
The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) welcomes the European Commission’s initiatives to improve the quality and coherence of European online contract law in the framework of the Better Regulation Agenda. However, the Commission’s proposed directive lacks harmonisation with contract law in the EU, which will result in companies still relying on different rules for different distribution channels.
