ILO: Unemployment in Czech Rep projected at 3.9% in 2017, 4.4% in 2018

According to the ILO World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends 2017, as economic growth stabilizes in Eastern Europe, the unemployment rate is projected to decline, but only gradually. This reflects falling unemployment rates in most of the countries in the region, notably the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, largely offset by increasing unemployment in Bulgaria, Romania and the Russian Federation.

Monster.cz: Ostrava - the city of a wide industrial heritage and scarce job openings for non-Czech speakers

Ostrava is sometimes called "Black Ostrava" and "Steel City" due to its heavy industry history. Ostrava's Vitkovice district was the center of the local iron and steel industry for decades. Though, this old image is slowly dispersing with promoting the industrial heritage as a part of an emerging tourism industry.

Eurostat: 1 in 10 Czech employees has temporary contract

The share of employees with a temporary contract has increased slightly since 2010 (around 8%). The gap between the lowest and the highest wages did not widen. In relative terms, low median wages in services and low-skilled jobs recorded the highest growth.
