AmCham CZ Position on Digital Tax

We write to explain our view that the digital tax being debated by the Parliament will harm the overall economy more than any potential benefit. The AmCham Czech Republic is an association of Czech and American companies interested in making the Czech Republic a top ten economy in the EU by 2025. The digital tax will make it substantially harder to achieve that aim.

Stricter business conditions for real estate agents

Until this year, the field of real estate brokerage lacked a separate law. As a free trade, real estate brokerage could be carried out by virtually everyone, regardless of education or experience, and without any liability insurance. On 3 March 2020, Act No. 39/2020 Coll., on Real Estate Brokerage and on Amendment to Related Acts (the “Real Estate Brokerage Act”) came into effect, finally specifying requirements for real estate agents and laying down other obligations that they must comply with. Business Leaders Optimistic About Recovery in Europe, Research from Accenture Finds

While European companies plan to accelerate digital transformation, their slower investment in innovation might not enable them to catch up with U.S. and Chinese businesses. Two-thirds (66%) of business leaders globally are optimistic that the European market will make a relatively fast recovery from the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new report from Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
