Industry’s share of total employment is by far the highest in the Czech Republic, followed by Slovakia and Poland, while Cyprus, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom recorded the lowest share of employment in industry. In all Member States this share is decreasing, EU's 2016 Employment and Social Developments report says, among others.

Czech Industry Coalition on Data Protection CICDP points to the fact that a coalition of 14 countriesm including the Czech Republic, agreed on 2 December on a position to push the European mission to propose a legislative ban on unjustified laws that keep data within national borders.
