OECD: Health Care at a Glance Europe 2016: Czech Republic: Marked increase in child obesity since 2001, still Czech girls aged 15 currently among most physically active

OECD recently published their Health Care at a Glance Europe 2016 report. Around 17.7% of the Czech population was aged over 65 in 2015, while fertility rate reached 1.53 children. The report mentions marked increase in child obesity, still Czech girls aged 15 are currently among most physically active. Also, differences in density of doctors between urban regions and rural regions are highest in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Greece, the report says.

ITU: Czech Republic ranks 32nd globally, 21nd in Europe in ICT development

The 2016 edition of the Measuring the Information Society Report by ITU features key ICT data and benchmarking tools to measure the information society, including the ICT Development Index (IDI). The IDI 2016 captures the level of ICT developments in 175 economies worldwide and compares progress since the year 2014. The Czech Republic ranks 32nd globally, 21nd in Europe.

Joint industry letter: Future-proofing the EU Single Market by enabling the free flow of data

Unjustified data localisation requirements in some Member States are increasingly threatening to fragment the Single Market. These barriers undermine the competitiveness of a true Digital Single Market which could provide an estimated EUR 415 billion to the EU’s GDP.
